Governance — a structure of people, not coin votes

Mobick is not governed by whoever holds the most coins. See how the founder, two committees and the 126-member council divide the work, and compute the “council price” yourself to see how it resists manipulation.

Not coin voting

Many crypto projects give votes in proportion to tokens held. Mobick does not. In a 21 December 2024 members-only stream, Oh Taemin said Mobick’s governance is unrelated to such voting experiments — just as Bitcoin has no coin voting. Instead it builds a structure of people and hands the founder’s authority to it step by step.

Four pillars

The official structure:

nominates approves final say: council Founder · Otaverse Inc. Sets direction; handing over power Public Asset Oversight Committee Oversees public goods; executes in founder’s absence Personnel Committee Talent; runs council selection BTCMobick Council · 126 Decision body · council price · anti-fraud · community voice Related entities — Mobickers Loan (events, paper wallets) · DOBS (apps, tech) · Metanomia (research) Contracted by Otaverse
FIG. 1Mobick governance, per mobick.io (governance and related entities).
  • Founder (Otaverse Inc.) — sets strategy and long-term vision, and is gradually handing over authority so the ecosystem does not depend on one person.
  • Public Asset Oversight Committee — oversees management and distribution of public goods, guards against misuse, and executes distribution and burning of public assets if the founder is absent. Final decisions rest with the council.
  • Personnel Committee — finds and trains people, and runs council selection.
  • BTCMobick Council — the official decision body: 126 members at its 2025 launch (per the official mobick.io docs, rechecked October 2026; no later change has been announced), chosen on the Personnel Committee’s recommendation with the founder’s final approval. Today it focuses on fraud prevention, governance and representing the community; if the founder steps back, it takes on institutional partnerships and policy.

Work is split among related entities. Otaverse handles publishing, lectures, education and events and does not issue, list or trade crypto assets. Mobickers Loan runs events and produces paper wallets, DOBS builds apps and technology, and Metanomia does research.

The council price: a human oracle

The council’s most visible job is setting a price. MOVN minting and redemption, MobickOne’s WBMB→MOVN swap and the 10-Mo Miracle exchange all use the “council price.”

Why not the exchange price? A thinly traded coin’s exchange price can jump on a few trades, and swaps at that moment would reward the manipulator. So Mobick built its oracle — the device that brings an outside value onto the chain — out of people.

  1. At a set time, members enter the price it is currently trading at within a short window (five minutes, per the live stream) — not the price they wish for.
  2. The top 10% and bottom 10% are discarded and the middle 80% averaged, like dropping the highest and lowest scores in judged sports.
  3. Members close to the average earn mileage later convertible to Mobick, so there is no reason to submit wild values.

It is updated Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at noon (KST). Try adding members who push the price up.

Numbers are an index (base 100), not a real price. Blue dots are honest members, orange dots are trying to push the price, faded dots are discarded.

FIG. 2Council-price simulator: 126 members, 10% (13 votes) dropped at each end. Prices are an index, not the real market.

The plain mean follows a handful of outliers; the council price does not budge until the pushers outnumber the discarded votes (13 at the top). Organising more than that would take many identity-checked members acting together — and would be noticed.

Summary

  • Mobick governance is a structure of people: founder, oversight committee, personnel committee and a 126-member council.
  • Otaverse does not issue, list or trade coins; related entities split the work.
  • The council price averages members’ real trading prices after trimming the top and bottom 10%, and anchors MOVN and WBMB swaps.

Going public — no date has been set

Mobick is currently a private chain whose mining is run by the operators. Going public — a chain anyone can mine — is the stated direction, but there is no date. The latest live stream said going public may wait longer if home mining revives the ecosystem, and set out a "last line of defence": if Oh Taemin can no longer lead, the chain goes public at once and most public-goods coins are burned.

D 2026.09.19 Going public is inevitable, but may be delayed if mining revives the ecosystem. If Oh can no longer lead: nodes open at once, most of the ~16M public-goods coins are burned, and part is airdropped to Australia lock-up, Miracle of 2 Mo and Miracle of 10 Mo participants. C 2026.08.20 In a members-only stream, described as 'a line of thought, nothing decided': going public makes sense at a 1.5625 BMB block reward (the natural halving is in 2030), and because the chain is private the halving could be brought forward — perhaps around June 2028.
